About this event

The Bloomington Motion Artists Group is an open meetup group for professionals, aspiring professionals, and hobbyists. Anything from an indie filmmaker, to a sound editor, to a working motion graphic designer. The goal is to bring together media creatives of all types and share experiences in a low barrier social club.

"BMAG" was inspired by similar meetup groups in Chicago (the Chicago Motion Artists Group) and in Austin (the Austin Motion Artists Group), both of which have been enormously successful in building bridges between media disciplines.

So join us for a brew and some friendly networking every month!

P.S. Sometimes our meetup night overlaps with the Constellation Stage + Screen Film Club Meetup night. On those nights, most of us attend those club meetings, and then mosey on over to The Bishop a bit later. Subscribe to the newsletter to make sure you don't miss any schedule changes.

Is it free?

Bloomington Motion Artist Group has no dues or fees. The Bishop Bar does not have a cover for entry. You pay for your own drinks. If there is another event at The Bishop Bar, bar entrance is free, stage entrance may have a separate fee.

Are there any preconditions to join?

No. not at all, we just casually hang out at a bar every third Thursday. This is an affirming, safe, and relaxed group of people that work with creative media - we'll hang out with anyone.

How do I stay up to date on the group?

Subscribe to the newsletter, and join the Facebook group. Those are the 2 best online spaces to know what's going on.

How do I find the group at Bishop

We try to have a laminated 8x11 card on the table that says BMAG. If the weather is nice and the parklets are open, we try to sit outside. If you still can't find us, email the group: bloomingtonmotionartistsgroup@gmail.com | The email address is actively monitored, we'll connect directly.
