About this event

  • Event lasts 2 hours

Welcome to Black Maternal Health Week 2025: Healing Legacies through Advocacy & Action! Join us at The Gathering Spot DC for a powerful in-person event dedicated to addressing the disparities in maternal health faced by Black women.

Our dynamic panel will discuss what momming in the margins looks like in the wake of the Aftershock of Maternal Health Trauma to promote healing and change.

We aim to empower our community to advocate for change and take meaningful action with words, thoughts, resources and activation of change agents that represent the communities being impacted. Let's come together to heal generational legacies and work towards a healthier future for all moms, women and birthing people across the Melinated Spectrum.

Our panelist include:

  • Jasmine Winters, Executive Director/Founder, Peaceful Minds Haven, Reproductive health advocate, maternal mental health advocate
  • Lynette Tradwick, Doula, HIV advocate, Community leader
  • Jennifer Evans-Rice, Nurse, Blind Advocate

This event is moderated by Melinated Moms Founder and CEO, Jaye Wilson
