Difficulty: Moderate/Easy
Appropriate for: Beginning and intermediate birders
Leader: Julia Osborne and Tinie Noordzij
About Julia and Tinie: Tinie and Julia are trained as nature guides for Winchester Trails, a group that gives nature walks in the Fells for Winchester school children.
About the Walk: Join us as we explore the trails around Long Pond, looking for signs of spring. We’ll keep an eye out for birds—early migrants and residents—and evidence that plants are emerging from winter dormancy. We’ll also observe various habitats along the trail, such as vernal pools. We’ll meet at the Hillcrest Parkway entrance to the nature trail, opposite 100 Hillcrest.
This walk is for beginning and intermediate birders. Please bring binoculars if you have them. The path may be muddy in places, so wear sturdy shoes.
Steady rain, stormy wind, or heavy snow cancels.
