Want to learn how to create works of art on your iPad? Hop into this beginner-friendly digital art class.
Your teacher will show you how to use an Apple pencil to utilize the Procreate app on your iPad. This class will cover one of three projects; painting a self-portrait, painting a portrait of your pet, or painting a still life (learning to draw objects through observation). This class is repeatable, and recurrent students will learn more advanced skills.
Required Materials:
- iPad
- Apple Pencil
- Procreate Application pre-downloaded ($9.99)
- (for self-portrait class) a photo(or many) of yourself
- (for pet portrait class) a photo(or many) of your pet
This class covers the following art skills:
- Navigating the Procreate app
- Using Procreate tools: brushes,& layers
- Controlling pen pressure sensitivity with Apple Pencil
- Using layers to trace
- Using and studying from reference photos
- How to color, shade, and add highlights
- Choosing and designing color palettes
- Basic color theory
- Line variation, line width, smooth lines
- Creating depth, dimension, color, contrast, compositions, focal points, and perspective
