-To find our Cleanup Station, head to the beach in front of the Sun Splash Parking Lot. Look for the red 'Cleanup' flag and red cleanup buckets next to our Beach Squad cleanup station. You can get to the beach by using the stairs or ramp from the parking lot.


SIGN-UP: Each volunteer registers for the event at Eventbrite.com with their individual email. (CLICK HERE TO REGISTER FOR A CLEANUP)

-On the day of the cleanup, all volunteers sign their names after reviewing and accepting the waiver form.

-Adults registering for the cleanup can also register up to 4 minors or individuals without email addresses. The registering adult assumes all responsibility and liability for any volunteers they register.


PARKING: The Sun Splash Parking lot, located directly behind the Beach Squad Beach Cleanup Tent, offers paid parking.

Volusia County residents with proof of residency can park for free.

-Free parking is also available on the side streets surrounding Sun Splash Park. Please avoid parking in areas marked 'no parking'.


WHAT TO BRING:

1) Water: Reusable water bottle filled with drinking water


2) Your Favorite Sun protection:

-Ocean-friendly sunscreen

-UV-protective long-sleeve

-Hat

-Sunglasses


3) Footwear (optional): Sandals or shoes to protect your feet from debris


4) Most importantly: Your positive energy!


PROVIDED: Beach Squad provides buckets, pickers, gloves, and trash bags for volunteers to use during the cleanup.

*Buckets and pickers need to be returned to the Beach Squad Cleanup Station by 10:45am.


END OF CLEANUP: After the cleanup event, we will weigh the trash collected by each volunteer and take a photo of you with your contributions if you would like!

Where Do I Park?

The Sun Splash Parking lot, located directly behind the Beach Squad Beach Cleanup Tent, offers paid parking. Volusia County residents with proof of residency can park for free. Free parking is also available on the side streets surrounding Sun Splash Park. Please avoid parking in 'no parking' zones.

How Long Do I Help Clean For?

Volunteers are welcome to join the cleanup effort at any point between 8:30am and 10:30am. You may help clean for as long as you would like, up until 10:45am. All equipment is to be returned to the Beach Squad Cleanup Station no later than 10:45am.

What Should I Bring?

Volunteers are encouraged to bring drinking water in a reusable water bottle, and their favorite type of sun protection. Performance long-sleeved shirts, hats, and ocean-friendly sunscreen are many people's favorite types of sun protection. We provide the buckets, pickers, gloves and trash bags.

What Happens If It Rains or is Too Windy?

In the event of a rainy morning, or windy mornings over 15MPH, we cancel our cleanups. We notify volunteers through email as well as posts on our Instagram and Facebook. (@BeachSquadOfficial) These notifications usually occur on the morning of the cleanup as weather conditions change rapidly.

What Happens If The Tide Is Too High?

In the event of high tide issues, volunteers concentrate on picking up trash in the parking lots and sidewalk areas. Some cleanups may be canceled, in which we would notify volunteers through email as well as posts on our Instagram and Facebook (@BeachSquadOfficial)
