Join us for a family-friendly exploration of Northern Woodland’s backyard birdlife. This guided gathering will immerse you in the sights and sounds of New England birds as the season awakens, while providing practical tips for creating a bird-friendly environment no matter where you live. With educator Jocelyn Duffy, you’ll discover essential bird identification methods, so you can recognize a variety of species by sight and sound. Whether you’re a seasoned birder or a curious beginner, this walk promises an enriching experience for all nature lovers.

About the Educator

Jocelyn Duffy has over a decade of experience developing and presenting programs about nature, science, and history for federal, state, and regional organizations. She has a background in information technology and a degree in library science, but the pull of the outdoors was strong. She went back to school and received a B.S. in natural resource management from Oregon State University. She enjoys reading natural histories, is interested in native plants and natural landscaping and volunteers with UNH Cooperative’s Speaking for Wildlife program.
