LB Heritage Presents: Alamitos Beach and Lowena Drive Architectural Walking Tour

This tour covers the eastern side of the Alamitos Beach neighborhood and the one-block-long Lowena Drive Historic District. Alamitos Beach has more designated Long Beach historic landmarks than any other residential neighborhood. Participants will hear about the neighborhood’s history by looking at many of its historic landmarks and sites, such as the Bixby Park Bandshell, the Lifeguard Headquarters, Better Home Electrical, El Cordova Apartments, and the Alamitos Branch Library. A highlight of the tour will be access to a beautifully-restored historic landmark home.
