About this event
- Event lasts 3 hours
Are you...
- A software developer figuring out how to incorporate AI into your workflow or product?
- An enthusiast experimenting with AI technologies?
- A teacher or professor trying to adjust to a post-ChatGPT world?
- A creator playing with AI but also worried about what it means for your future?
- Just interested in where all of this is going?
Come to our monthly casual discussion group where we try to understand this crazy new world together!
This is a monthly ongoing discussion group for people in the Hudson Valley interested in experimenting with and discussing Artificial Intelligence models and products such as GPT, Midjourney, Claude, and thousands of others that seem to be emerging and evolving daily.
Anyone is welcome to the event, and discussions can address a wide range of topics in the realm of AI, though our focus is on practical applications and experimentation.
We welcome participants from a wide range of backgrounds, from teachers to content creators to developers.
What are you working on?
The first part of the meeting will have space for anyone to share AI projects they're working on, planning, or just thinking about. You can bring a slide show, demo, scribble on a whiteboard, or just talk. The group can offer feedback, help you think through problems, or just support you in what you're doing!
Depending on attendance, presentations should try to stick to 10-15 minutes, with a similar amount of time for discussion.
Where is AI headed in 2025?
Our discussion focus for the evening will be on what to expect from the world of AI in 2025.
With "agentic" AI, AI that can (kind of ) operate your computer, and the Deepseek collective meltdown, 2025 has already been a crazy year for AI. What should we expect from the rest of the year? This is an open discussion, and we could discuss anything from nerdy details about model architecture to intellectual property to environmental and social impact.

Frequently asked questions
You will need a door code to enter the building. Closer to the event date I will send out a message to attendees with instructions on how to enter.
There are a lot of developers in the group, so sometimes discussions get in the weeds a bit, but you absolutely don't need to be a developer to attend.
