This course is a two day/20 hour training covering the critical skills needed to get your defensive pistol into the fight, and to stay in the fight. A low-light live-fire block in included on Saturday night. This course is a two day distilation of street proven TTPs I have taught in the police world for the pst three decades.

This is not a basic or beginner handgun class. Class will start on Saturday and go into the evening for a low light shoot, then for 8 hours on Sunday.

Draw stroke, grip, sights, trigger, recoil control, to insure fast accurate hits under pressure

Close quarters shooting techniques

Extended range pistol engagements

Reloads

Malfunction clearing

Wounded shooter drills

One handed shooting

Use of the pistol in a low light environment, with handheld lights (mandatory equipment) and pistol mounted lgihts (optional equipment)

Applying marksmanship at speed to the Tactical Anatomy problem


Student equipment/requirements;

A safe, servicable handgun, a safe holster that allows drawing and holstering one handed. The student may use a concealed or open holster as they see fit, police/security type duty holsters/belts are also welcome.

Concealed holsters that collapse and do not allow one handed holstering are not safe for use in this class and will not be allowed. Please to do not bring a Serpa or similar trigger finger release holster unless you are required to use such a holster by agency policy.

At least three magazines

1000 rounds of quality training ammunition, 20 rounds of your chosen carry/duty ammunition.

Range safety gear; eye and hearing protection (active electronic hearing protection is recommended), a hat or cap with a bill.

I will have 9mm/.40/.45acp dummy ammunition on hand for various malfunction dills, if you are using a caliber different than those three please bring at least six dummy rounds for your pistol.

Water, food/snacks. Lunch will be on site.

Class fees cover the registration fees and taxes, however the is a $40 cash range fee due to start of class.
