About this event

  • Event lasts 4 hours

As part of an effort to hike all of the American Discovery Trail in Ohio, this year our focus on is the North route from Elizabethtown.
We will meet at Governor Bebb - go past the covered bridge and the old village and stay toward the left and follow sign for Howe Shelter / picnic parking. there is a camp site (DO NOT FOLLOW SIGN TOWARD CAMPGROUND) and a kids play ground area here near the parking and is near where yellow and green trails meet.
We will then shuttle with as few cars as possible over to parking at Miami Whitewater Forest and walk back.
There is a cost for parking vehicle access at Miami Whitewater- lets try to avoid but might not be able to. Resident cost for pass is cheaper- its Hamilton County- Great Parks Pass- daily or 2x daily cost for annual pass just awareness.

I am hoping to get access to the park on the now blocked California Rd access to the green trail. If that is denied we will need to walk around the block and into the park technically.
Walk is about 11 miles perhaps slightly more and mostly on roads, some sidewalk.
PLEASE wear Bright colored clothes and or a orange vest for safety along roads
If you need or want to shorten you could with use of Uber or a few other options- please let us know if that is your intent.
There are a few options we can look at if there is interest for lunch after.
