Meet Your Instructor: Lt. John Phillips
Lt. John Phillips has 16 years of law enforcement experience and has been training law enforcement officers and the community in active threat response for the past 11 years. He is a certified instructor with the State of Wisconsin, holding multiple instructor certifications, including tactical response instruction. His specialized training includes:
- Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training (ALERRT)
- Federal Law Enforcement Training Center Solo Response to Active Threats (FLETC)
- Multi-Assault Counter Terrorism Action Capabilities (MACTAC)
Lt. Phillips served on the Marathon County Joint SWAT team for four years and has been the lead tactical instructor for the Wausau Police Department for the past six years. He is deeply passionate about training and has been providing civilian active threat response training since 2013.
