About this event
- Event lasts 2 hours
Looking for a fun and engaging way to connect with your community and learn about local conservation efforts? Join us for Active Social: March Trail Mixer & Community Presentation, where we’ll talk trails, forest resilience, and food equity.
For our activity, we’ll make a custom trail mix to fuel future adventures! All ingredients will be provided, but this activity will contain peanuts, nuts, or seeds. If you have allergies, take the necessary precautions.
We’ll be joined by team members from Nature for All, LA Food Equity Fund, and the Forest Resiliency and Youth Engagement (FRYE) Program, who are working on wildfire prevention, ecosystem restoration, and expanding access to nutritious food. Learn about efforts in the San Gabriel Mountains National Monument, including work at Coldbrook Campground, Valley of the Moon, and Glendora Mountain Road, where teams are reducing wildfire risks and restoring native habitats.
Come mix, mingle, and make your perfect trail mix as we share updates and ways to get involved. Whether you’re a hiking enthusiast, an advocate for climate action, or just curious about the work in your backyard, this is the perfect opportunity to connect and learn. Plus, each guest will receive a free gift!

About the FRYE Program:
Funding for this project is provided by the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection’s Fire Prevention Program as part of the California Climate Investments Program.
The SGVCC Forest Resiliency and Youth Engagement Program is part of California Climate Investments, a statewide program that puts billions of Cap-and-Trade dollars to work reducing greenhouse gas emissions, strengthening the economy, and improving public health and the environment—particularly in disadvantaged communities. The Cap-and-Trade program also creates a financial incentive for industries to invest in clean technologies and develop innovative ways to reduce pollution. California Climate Investments projects include affordable housing, renewable energy, public transportation, zero-emission vehicles, environmental restoration, more sustainable agriculture, recycling, and more. At least 35 percent of these investments are located within and benefiting residents of disadvantaged communities, low-income communities, and low-income households across California.
