About this event

777 LUCKY CRUSHER

- Smart-guided Selfie Gravel Adventure - Central Ohio

Gravel is king! If that is you, this adventure is yours - 777 miles! An amazing 57% combined gravel/bikeway/MTB trail!

Do it as an ITT (Individual Time Trial) endurance bikepacking event*, a KOM (King of the Mountain) standing*, or a multi-day relaxed bike-camping adventure. The route is 43% gravel - 43% rural hard paved - 14% bikeway and MTB trail. Combined climbing is 53,225 feet and the route comes with GravelNuts' 50% downhill guarantee.

This 777-mile gravel adventure can be broken down into several days of overnight camping or grind it out in a super-human single ITT/KOM endurance effort*. Several POI (Points of interest) campgrounds are marked along the route at about every 50 miles - details are provided with your ticket purchase.

Get your camping gear packed for those doing it as a several-day bike-packing adventure and get ready for a fun, gravel road-focused 777-mile camping adventure! The route starts at a tasty spot in the countryside and proceeds to campground locations along the way.

Grocery/convenience stores are marked POI before upcoming campgrounds to replenish cooking supplies along the route. The best idea is to plan carefully what you are going to cook in the evening. If it is a perishable item, keep in mind food safety. If possible, pack in ice and shade it on your rig. There are also a couple of tasty stops along the way that are POI, but just a couple. That's it.

Plan ahead - this is very important - PLAN AHEAD - resupply spots are sparse along the route. Take note of food/resupply points of interest (POI) and the marked campground POI.

This cycling adventure will take you through scenic mid-Ohio countryside, towns, and on the fringe and through several Amish communities. The quiet rural countryside along gravel roads is the main feature of this adventure.

The smart-guided 777-mile route is an impressive 57% combined gravel road/bikeway/MTB trails. The segments that are not gravel are predominantly quiet low low-traffic roadways. The route follows the topography of Mideast Ohio, which is mostly mild to hard rolling hills. There are segments where you might be bike-hiking, but nothing to work up too much of a sweat over. Speaking of sweating - it's optional. You set the pace, starting time, and agenda with GravelNuts' expert smart-guided cycle route.

Easily, with the smart guide you can wander away from the planned route to get a better look at points of interest you find along the way. The smart guide will get you back on the route when you are ready.

Routes may include dedicated bicycle lanes on streets, bicycle ‘friendly’ streets, and of necessity, regular streets, parking lots, sidewalks, and unpaved trails. Darkness may be experienced on evening or early morning rides. Lights in good working order at all times on CycleNuts tours are a great idea – to be seen and to see!

Emergency road support – if necessary – may be a creative, collective group effort or you may need to fend for yourself. Be prepared with options.
