Festival Description

Cupertino's Earth and Arbor Day Festival l is an interactive event that invites community members of all ages to learn about environmental issues and solutions in a family-friendly atmosphere. Consistently attracting over 5,000 attendees and about 100 partner organizations, the Earth Day & Arbor Day Festival features hands-on activities, live entertainment, and delicious food served by local food trucks.

The volunteers at Cupertino’s Earth and Arbor Day Festival are crucial members of the team and help to make the event possible through set up, registration assistance, waste management, and much more! Your volunteering supports the City in holding a successful event that will engage community members in the diversity of programs and services that ensure Cupertino is healthy, sustainable, and resilient for generations to come.


Shifts

There will be two volunteer shifts for the event on April 5, 2025:

First Shift 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Involves event set up the event and festival equipment, facilitating registration, managing waste, assisting Tabling Partners, and more.

Second Shift 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Involves assisting with keeping the event running smoothly through waste management, assisting Tabling Partners, event break down, and more.

If you do not end up needing all of the tickets you originally registered for, please email earthday@cupertino.gov as soon as possible. Volunteers can sign up for multiple shifts.


Qualifications

  • Volunteers will need to be able to comfortably move tables and chairs (can be done in pairs) and remain on their feet for the majority of their shift.
  • All volunteers must be 14 years of age or older.
  • All volunteers will be required to submit a signed waiver prior to the volunteer orientation.(those under the age of 18 will need a signature from their parent or guardian as well).*
  • All volunteers must attend a pre-event volunteer orientation on Wednesday 3/26.*

*Form and details will be sent via email prior to the orientation.

PLEASE NOTE: volunteers working for a tabling organization or vendors should NOT sign up on this page.

Once registered, volunteers and volunteer groups will be contacted using the email provided during registration. More detailed information will be given out closer to the event date, so stay tuned and remember to check your email in April!

What if I am registering a group?

Your group is more than welcomed, encouraged even, to volunteer! As of 2025, each individual person whether they are in a group or not must register to volunteer.

How do I prepare?

Bring your signed waiver, water, sunscreen, closed-toed shoes, and a good attitude! The waiver form and more detailed information will be emailed closer to the event date, so stay tuned and remember to check your email as the event nears!

Can I sign up for more than one shift?

Yes, you can signup for one or both shifts and stay all day!
