The 2025 Quality of Place Conference will be Thursday, May 1st starting at 10:30 A.M. in the First Bank Gallery Hall at the William G. Scott House 204 North 10th Street Richmond. The conference is known for its diversity of knowledge about community development. This year we think will be quite interesting.

Brady Kress President of Dayton History will talk about the importance of history and how it plays into today’s world. Brady worked with Indiana Landmarks before joining Dayton History. He has done an amazing job at Dayton History marketing history and creating exciting programming to get people engaged with their heritage, https://www.daytonhistory.org/

Jeff Carter is President of Bethany Seminary on the campus of Earlham College. He has a long history of being a person of faith. Columbian Properties believes that there is a spirituality in where we live. We have asked Jeff to reflect on that, https://bethanyseminary.edu/staff/jeff-carter/

Bill Taft was Wayne County’s first Director of Main Street. After a successful time here he and his wife Joanna moved to Indianapolis. Bill took on the development in the Fountain Square area. Later he worked with Indianapolis LISC and then the National LISC. He now works with the Sagamore Institute. Bill will discuss several topics focusing on older residential neighborhoods, https://sagamoreinstitute.org/
