About this event

This event is rain or shine. NO REFUNDS.

The 2025 Flash Foxy Mini-Fest in the Red River Gorge is an intimate, three-day event focused on sport climbing and skill building workshops, open to genderqueer and women climbers.

We’ve been listening to our community; and what we’ve heard is a yearning for more opportunities for intimate connection and community building, more opportunities for learning and sharing with and from one another, and finding ways to be able to bring our full selves to climbing and the outdoors.

Historically, our east coast event has traveled every few years, and our dirtbag roots are ready for another change. We spent three years in Chattanooga, then three years in North Conway, and now we’re heading to Kentucky for a brand new lil event!

Though this event will be focused on sport climbing and skill building workshops, the Red also offers some great single-pitch traditional climbing! For boulderers, there are some standalone boulders listed in Red River Gorge guidebooks. The closest boulderfield is Foxtown, 1.5 hours away.

FESTIVAL DATES: May 16-18, 2025

WHO IS FLASH FOXY FOR?

We welcome all women and genderqueer climbers - including trans and gender non-conforming folks - to join us at the Flash Foxy Climbing Festival. Our goal is to create and maintain a safe and diverse space where consent and respect are our first priorities. Harassment of any kind (unwanted contact, verbal or physical abuse, racism, homophobia, transphobia, body-shaming, etc.) will NOT be tolerated.

Not sure if this space is for you? Find out more at www.flashfoxy.com/about - or shoot us an email at events@flashfoxy.com.

WHERE IS THE FESTIVAL LOCATED?

The festival is located in the Red River Gorge, Kentucky . Our event home base will be at Lago Linda. Clinics + Meetups will take place at various climbing areas. Find more details about the Red River Gorge and our venues on the Lodging + Local Beta page.

WHY ARE THERE DIFFERENT LEVELS OF TICKET PRICING?

We strongly believe in keeping the festival affordable so that folks of all situations who love climbing can attend which is why we have a “pay more if you are willing and able” model.

The standard registration cost for the weekend is $250 - but we have also created options for lower-cost and higher-cost tickets ranging from $150-$350. If you feel that you can afford the higher price and would like to help offset the costs for other participants, please select a $300 or $350 Festival Pass. We have a limited number of $150 Festival Passes available. Lower-cost festival passes will go on sale April 1st. There are also full scholarships available. Click here for more information on our "pay more if you are willing and able" model.

As always, $5 from each ticket sale will be donated to a local Indigenous-led organization.

ACCESSIBILITY

All Primary Festival events will be held at Lago Linda. The roads through Lago Linda are gravel, and these serve as major pathways to and from. The campground where we will be staging is the flattest location and is a combination of grass and gravel. The terrain still undulates but not nearly as much as the other surroundings. Cars can access almost any single nook and corner of the camp ground.

All films will have captions in English. *ASL Interpretation can be coordinated upon request. Please email events@flashfoxy.com to discuss your needs.

Face masks will be optional for all indoor events. Face masks will be available on-site.

Accessibility of crags (climbing clinics) and satellite events (Sunday Stewardship Project) may vary. Have an accessibility concern? Reach out to events@flashfoxy.com and we’ll see how we can help!

We are always working to make the Flash Foxy festivals more inclusive and welcoming spaces, please let us know what we can do to make our event more accessible for you. Unfortunately, we are not always able to arrange accommodations but we will do our best and will provide honest answers about our event spaces, staff capabilities, and the activities that take place at our festivals. Thank you for learning and growing with us!

IS THIS EVENT RAIN OR SHINE?

Yes, our event is rain or shine! Regardless of the weather, we will have a good time! We cannot guarantee access to climbing or any specific climbing areas. Part of climbing outdoors is respecting the land and learning to make the best of whatever Mother Nature throws our way!

We cannot guarantee weather conditions, crag conditions, or any other element of climbing, road, or trail access. NO REFUNDS.

CAN I BRING MY DOG?

As much as we love dogs, they are not encouraged at primary festival programming including the opening party, film screenings, presentations, clinics, workshops and stewardship projects. Our events are jam packed with both humans and activities, which can be an overwhelming experience for our canine friends. Additionally, dogs can be a safety hazard at the crag. To avoid conflict, we would prefer that you leave your pup at home. Thank you for understanding!

If you cannot leave your dog at home, dogs are allowed at Lago Linda Hideaway and on RRGCC properties if they are leashed and under the control of their owner at all times. Dogs are not allowed at Muir Valley or Graining Fork Nature Preserve.

Service dogs are allowed at all festival programming. If you will be bringing a service animal to your clinic or workshop please email events@flashfoxy.com so that we can ensure that the venue can accommodate dogs. Not all venues are dog friendly.

Face masks will be optional at all indoor programs. Face masks will be available on-site.

Additionally, we request that if you are sick - even if it’s not Covid - that you stay home. We don’t like missing events any more than you do, but we also really don’t like being sick. We especially don’t like putting our immunocompromised community members at risk.
