About this event

  • Event lasts 6 hours

Please join us for this FREE event featuring keynote speaker, George Fatheree, Founder & CEO of ORO Impact, a Fintech venture focused on closing the wealth gap by expanding access to down payment assistance and increasing homeownership. As a former law firm partner, George made history by securing the return of Bruce’s Beach, the first case of government-returned property taken by racially motivated eminent domain. He has advised major institutions, including The J. Paul Getty Trust and the Ford Foundation, and led California’s first commercial community land trust acquisition to prevent business gentrification. With 16 years of experience at top law firms, George has been a champion of social justice, securing reparations for Holocaust survivors, advocating for students with disabilities, and supporting Black arts and culture initiatives. A 2024 Rockefeller Foundation Bellagio Resident, George has received numerous accolades, including California Lawyer Attorney of the Year and the Living Legends Award for Service to Humanity.

In addition to George Fatheree, attendees will have the opportunity to hear from fair housing experts during various workshops. The topics of these workshops include:

  • How Fair Are You? A Fair Housing Decision-Making Lab
  • Fair Housing Forward - NAR's Efforts to Advance Fair Housing & Ownership
  • Small Scale Developers Lead to Large Scale Invesment
  • Fair Lending
  • Opening Doors - The Keys to Unlocking Housing Choice in Fort Wayne
  • Disability Legal Update
  • Developing Solutions to Address Housing Inequities

Doors will open at 8:30 am for registration.
