2025 Bull's Island Towpath Trek

Join the D&R Canal State Park, Hunterdon County Clean Communities, the Delaware Twp. Environmental Commission, and the Americorps NJ Watershed Ambassdors Program to help clean up the D&R Canal towpath around Bull's Island Recreation Area!


This event will start at Bull's Island where volunteers will be bused to one of three locations to pick up trash on their walk back to the island. Volunteers also have the option to pick up litter on the Bull's Island itself.


Meeting location: Park Office at Bull's Island Recreation Area

2185 Daniel Bray Hwy, Stockton, NJ 08559

When: Check-in will be staggered between 8:15AM - 9:30AM

What to wear: Long sleaves, long pants, closed toed shoes, layers

What to bring: Gloves will be provided, but you are welcome to bring your own

What will be provided: Bags, grabbers, and gloves. Snacks and recyclable canned water will be provided!


Buses will be dropped off at:
Prallsville Mill (leaves at 8:30AM, ~2.8 mile walk)
Federal Twist Road (leaves at 8:45AM, ~0.75 mile walk)
Byram Boat Launch (leaves at 9:00AM, ~1 mile walk)
Bull's Island Recreation Area (no bus, leaves at 9:15AM)


All volunteers must check in before their bus leaves. Minors must be accompanied by an adult. More information will be emailed out to volunteers once the date gets closer!
