In this three-part story set in Brooklyn during the golden era of the 90’s through the early 2000’s, Carin Douglas takes you on a journey from a lovelorn teenager into womanhood.
When Carin’s parents Jackie and Darren part ways when she’s just seven-years old, they lose their home, ending up in the projects where Jackie takes on a time-consuming job to support them, leaving Carin in the throes of growing up in the hood and ultimately landing herself in a tumultuous situation which almost costs her, her freedom and even her life. She’s given a second chance when she reconnects with her father late in her teens and moves to the suburbs in New Jersey, far away from the dangerous streets of Brooklyn and the thugs she once befriended. But when Carin meets a handsome, charismatic, fly guy – from Brooklyn, named Monty, she finds herself engaged to be married and isolated from her loved ones, where she becomes ensnared in a dangerous, vile, abusive relationship with a man who keeps her severely bruised and battered body, hidden under Gucci and gold, until the price of their violent relationship becomes too costly to hide.
“Full Circle, A Renewed History” sheds a much-needed light on what seems to be an epidemic of domestic violence against women and one young woman’s fight to make it out alive.
