About this event

Join us for the 2025 NHS Big Band Dinner Dance at a new venue, the beautiful NPS Center for Arts and Learning! Enjoy a delicious meal by Gaberino's Homestyle Italian followed by a concert of big band music performed by the Norman High School Jazz Band. Dancing is encouraged! We will honor the 2024 and 2025 NHS Band Hall of Fame inductees. Our evening will be lead by emcee Michael Bendure (NHS Class of '95, trumpet) from KGOU's "Tonic: The Funky Groove Show." Experience amazing interactive 3D art by world renowned street artist Jan Riggins (NHS Class of '95, clarinet). Your ticket includes one dinner and admission to the event.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a different price for children?

No. Each ticket is considered general admission regardless of age.

Will there be vegetarian and gluten free options for the meal?

Yes. We will have vegetarian and gluten free pasta options. Please indicate in the questions asked when purchasing your tickets how many in your party are in need of a gluten free option so we can make sure we have enough gluten free pasta for those who cannot eat the standard pasta options.

What if I can't make it to the event after purchasing a ticket? Are tickets refundable?

All ticket purchases are considered a donation to the NHS Band. We do not offer refunds. Tickets are transferrable. If you cannot use your ticket, please let us know (nhsbigband@gmail.com) who you are transferring it to or if we can open up your vacant seat to other NHS band supporters for purchase.

What if the event is canceled due to inclement weather or other uncontrollable events?

All ticket purchases are considered a donation to the NHS Band. We do not offer refunds. We appreciate your understanding in 2024 when we had to cancel due to severe weather. We ensured your meal did not go to waste by donating the already purchased catered food to Food & Shelter in Norman.

What is the suggested attire?

Most guests will dress in business to semi-formal attire. You are welcome to wear whatever you like, but be sure to bring your dancing shoes!
