Join us as our licensed therapist teaches you how to recognize and address microaggressions. Leave with wellness strategies to foster a positive and inclusive work environment.


About The Workforce Spark Series

The Center for Financial Inclusion and the Financial Empowerment Center at the Greater Washington Urban League is hosting a "Spark Series" of classes to help you maximize job earnings to fuel the life you want to live. Our series of classes, led by industry experts, will cover a range of topics from mapping your passion to your career to navigating power structures in the workplace. The classes are designed to be taken as a series as each one builds upon the material from the class before it. We encourage you to take all the classes in the series. Upon completion of the "Spark Series" you will be eligible to take advantage of our career coaching sessions at no cost to you.

Our highly interactive classes are designed to include any learner at any level. At no charge but with a commitment to invest in yourself and you will leave with a pathway to reach your career goals.


Meet The Presenter: Amarachi Onyima

Amarachi Onyima is a licensed professional counselor in Washington, DC and Maryland, and founder of Amarachi Therapy, where she provides mental health counseling with a focus on supporting Black professionals struggling with workplace stress. Amarachi has over 12 years of experience providing mental health counseling, vocational counseling, and clinical case management to adults and families coping with the negative psychological impacts of unemployment, relationship issues, financial insecurity, and more.

Amarachi has a keen understanding of the challenges that come with navigating discriminatory and toxic work environments as she has personally experienced the harm they can cause and the toll they can take on one’s mental health. She knows firsthand the importance of having a therapist who understands the nuances of these issues and can provide the support and guidance needed to navigate them. As a result, she is deeply committed to creating a safe and supportive space for her clients to explore their experiences and develop coping strategies.
