Eventbrite’s “The Social Connection Project” Featured Among Fast Company’s 2023 World Changing Ideas

Eventbrite’s The Social Connection Project, an innovative initiative with the goal of combating isolation through social connection by transforming how we connect at live events, has been recognized as a finalist in the Midsize Business category of Fast Company’s 2023 World Changing Ideas Awards.

World Changing Ideas is one of Fast Company’s major annual awards programs and is focused on social good, seeking to elevate finished products and brave concepts that make the world better. The 2023 awards feature some of the world’s most inventive entrepreneurs and forward-thinking companies that are actively tackling global challenges. A panel of Fast Company editors and reporters selected winners and finalists from a pool of more than 2,200 entries across urban design, education, technology, corporate social responsibility, and more. 

The Social Connection Project pledges to bring the world together through live experiences and connect people in new ways. Eventbrite is accomplishing this through a number of different methods, including curating collections of events that showcase the power of live experiences to partnering with people across academia, government and nonprofits. As part of the initiative, Eventbrite works closely with these partners to elevate social isolation as a public health priority, educate them on the role live events play in relieving isolation, and design practical interventions.

In 2022 alone, Eventbrite helped event creators in nearly 180 countries power over 5 million events, resulting in transactions of 284 million free and paid tickets. This staggering statistic illustrates the immense power Eventbrite creators have to shape our communities, our culture, and our future.

This notable designation comes on the heels of releasing our first-ever Corporate Responsibility Report, and follows prestigious award wins, including being recognized on Fast Company’s Most Innovative Companies and Brands That Matter lists.
